October Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review

Blush Mystery Beauty Box is $34.95/month ($24.95 with monthly subscription), and I’m usually pretty happy with the items I receive. Each box contains over $100 worth of products, and most are full-sized.

Bonus Items:

Dremu Oil Serum

I got a couple of week’s worth of use from this sample-sized serum in my nightly face routine. I didn’t notice any spectacular results, so it won’t be a likely purchase.

$88/1 oz

20% off PMD Personal Microderm products – expired 10/31

Specific Beauty Night Treatment Complex

I don’t remember how I liked this night moisturizer, oops. It is reasonably priced though!

** Also included 20% off Specific Beauty products – expired 10/31

$23.99/2 oz

The goodies:

IMG_1203

Theraplex FT Exfoliating Emollient

This body exfoliant will make it’s way into my shower rotation very soon to be used weekly. As well as exfoliating, the formula penetrates deep into the skin to repair dry, cracked skin – sounds perfect for Winter!

$15/2.5 oz

Butter LONDON Nail Lacquer in “Kerfuffle”

I tried this bubble gum pink polish from the Sweetie Shop Spring 2013 Collection on my finger nails, and it didn’t last very long at all. Chips on day 1, remove on day 2 😦 I had such high hopes for Butter LONDON products…

$15

IMG_1204

Talika Lipocils Expert

This eyelash enhancer promises to have the same effects as other lash enhancing products (like Latisse), but without the potential side effects (like brown pigmentation in the iris).

$57/.34 oz

Chella Skin Care Highlighter Pencil in “Ivory Lace”

I already had this product (x 2) from previous boxes, and ended up gifting it 🙂 I like smudging a little on the inner corners of my eyes to make me look more awake in the AM.

$18

MyFace Cosmetics Lip Pop Gloss in “Naughty Girl”

I’ve been getting a lot of red lip products lately in sub boxes, but this one really stands out! I love the color, which is a rich shimmery gold-burgundy, but it appears this shade is meant for medium/dark skin tones (I am pretty fair).

$18

Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 1

This facial moisturizer is designed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as minimizing pores. I need to try this out soon!

$75/1.73 oz

Miracle Skin Transformer Face SPF 20 in “Medium”

I should have known this tinted moisturizer was too dark for my fair skin tone! I liked the formula (it really covered things up), just wish it would have been in the”light” shade.

$48/1.7 oz

Mirabella Mineral Highlighting Powder in “Shimmer Rose”

I recently added this highlighting powder to my makeup subbing for blush and highlighter. I do like the shade, but a little bit goes a long way for a more natural looking flush.

Blush Beauty Box

September Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review

I anxiously awaited this sub box after my first Blush Mystery Beauty Box was so awesome in August. I was slightly disappointed because the last box had a TON of items, but realize the Racinne facial kit is a high value item. Still a deal for $24.95/month!

I like that Blush always includes some bonus items 🙂 This month, they included:

Vichy LiftActiv Eyes

More eye cream – yay.

$45.50/.5 oz

Dremu Airbrush

More eye cream – yay.

$68/.75 oz (45 day supply)

IMG_1053

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo

I use dry shampoo every other day in between shampoos, and this size is perfect for travel (yet another upcoming Vegas trip companion). To apply, dispense a small amount in the palm of your hands, rub hands together, then run thru your roots.

$22/2.65 oz

Amlactin Triple Action Alpha Hydroxy Therapy Foot Cream

I fell in love with Amlactin body cream last Winter, and will be using this foot cream more as it gets cooler. I tried the cream out after an at-home pedi (right before going to bed), and woke up the next morning with perfectly smooth and soft feet.

$10/3 oz

Brad Biophotonic Skin Care Ultra Peel

Key ingredients in this facial “peel” include glycolic acid, kojic acid, licorice, and bearberry extract. This expensive treatment isn’t really a peel – you apply before your normal moisturizer. The chance of skin irritation worries me a little since my skin is on the sensitive side.

$175/1.7 oz

IMG_1054

Anastasia Clear Brow Gel

I’ve been using this brow gel for years, and was stoked to see this since it’s the perfect size for travel!

$22/.28 oz

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Lip Crayon in “Fuchsia Flirt”

I received the coral version of this lip crayon in another sub box and really liked it. The fuchsia color tends to look a little on the cakey side, and just doesn’t look right on me 😦

$25/6-piece kit

LVX Nail Laquer in “Greige”

From the Fall Winter 2012 Collection – greige must be super popular right now because I have at least 3 different ones from sub boxes in my beauty inventory! This neutral shade is flattering on most, and can appear to look different based on what you wear with it.

$16/.57 oz

IMG_1055

Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Serum

I am about out of trial serums, and like the fact that you get to try out most of the Ultimate Youth Power line! Key ingredients include copper peptides and ginseng.

$61/1.02 oz

Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Cream

As with the serum, I’m almost out of trial facial creams as well.

$56/1.7 oz

Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Neck Emulsion

I’m not sure how much I really need to use a neck emulsion, but I’ll give it a shot.

$44 $26.40/1 oz

Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Mask

This twice a week treatment promises to leave your face moisturized and glowing. Update to come…

$46/2.54 oz

August Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review

I added a few new sub boxes in August, and the Blush Mystery Beauty Box was probably my favorite! Every box comes with a bag full of deluxe-sample or full-size beauty items, plus bonus items for $34.95/month (or $24.99/month when you sign up for a recurring subscription). The quality of the black bag everything comes in isn’t enough to swoon over, but is practical and I plan on using for storage/organization of my beauty items.

The bonus goodies (and free gift for joining):

Alchimie Forever Brightening Moisture Mask

I used this one-time sample last weekend as my weekly facial treatment. The consistency is that of a thick cream, and sinks into the skin like a cream. After 15-20 minutes, just rinse with warm water to reveal a super moisturized face! As for the brightening powers the mask promises, I cannot vouch for (but I’m currently sick and don’t know if much will make my skin glow at this point).

$50.95/3.4 oz

Intelligent Beauty Labs Rescue Restorative Shampoo

I haven’t yet tried this shampoo, which uses keratin and baobab oil to smooth frizz. Update to come…

$6/9 oz

Dremu Oil Serum

This stuff must be liquid gold for your skin, because it’s pricey! I think the description at dermstore.com sums it up:

Dremu Oil contains 100% emu oil to smooth the under-eye area, soothe dry skin and lips, calm redness, treat blemishes, stimulate collagen production, reduces wrinkles and plump the lips. Odorless and non-comedogenic, emu oil is extremely gentle, beneficial, and safe for all skin types. The complexion becomes brighter, clearer and healthier-looking.

Interested to see how it stacks up to other face serums I’ve used!

$88 (+$4.99 shipping)/1 oz

The goodies (WOW!):

IMG_0993

Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant

This exfoliant may end up being put into weekly rotation, and reviews claim that it makes your skin super soft. To use, mix the powder with water to make a paste, apply then rinse off. Voila, smooth skin!

$36.95/4.2 oz

Colorescience Sunforgettable Face Primer SPF 30

I like that this face primer includes UVA and UVB ray protection. I’m not sure if it is tinted or not.

$30/30 ml

Coola SPF 30 Face Classic Sunscreen – Cucumber

I think I already have this sample, but it’s good to have an extra.

$22.70/50 ml

IMG_0994

Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist

This makes the 3rd beach mist sea salt spray I’ve received this year, and will be added to rotation soon. I’ve found that using a sea spray on my naturally curly hair lets me reduce the amount of time needed to blow dry (with a diffuser, of course!), thus reducing heat damage. Update to come on how this product stacks up to the other 2: Sea Salt Texture Spray for Hair, and It Hair Care Surf Spray.

Skylark Memoir Fragrance Collection

I’m not a big perfume girl, but this trio of rollerballs makes me want to wear perfume more this season! The Skylark Memoir Collection was created by Elle and Blair Fowler, and the scents were created to “evoke whimsical romance and modern femininity.”

Skylark Memoir Fragrance Collection includes (from blush.com):

  • Fragrance I: With a top note fusing Sicilian lemon, black currant and Macintosh apple, this jasmine-based fragrance–whose main theme also includes a white flower accord and a violet aspect–is anything but your typical floral scent. Thanks to its earthy base, which comprises cedarwood, sandalwood, patchouli and a complex musk accord, it offers an unexpected edge.
  • Fragrance II: Bergamot, lemon and cassis open up this fresh, youthful scent, which offers middle notes of honeysuckle, jasmine and lotus along with a sensual dry down of musk with a cashmere wood and iris.
  • Fragrance III: A marine accord and a fruity anise complex comprise the top note of this feminine, floral fragrance, which relies on notes of jasmine, lily and freesia–along with sandalwood undertones–to convey its main theme. An amber musk base with a sweet vanilla and tonka dry down complete a beautifully complex scent.

$29.95

Mor Emporium Hand Cream – Snow Gardenia

This hand cream screams “luxury” and the packaging alone makes me want to try it. Update to come…

$20 $14.99 (+$3.52 shipping)

IMG_0996

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat

I used this waterproof topcoat for my mascara to help eliminate the raccoon eyes I was getting due to the humidity. It worked like a boss, and I would highly recommend for a beach trip to waterproof your favorite mascara.

$21

Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pen – No. 5 Deep Plum

I love all things purple, and want to use this waterproof eyeliner on my 2nd Vegas trip this Fall. The color is a rich purple and has a slight hint of shimmer to it. Update to come…

$15 $14.39
